This lesson aims to foster a sense of responsibility and teamwork among pupils towards environmental conservation.

Pupils are expected to know basic social studies concepts about community helpers and natural resources.

Classroom Note:
Man And His Environment
The environment includes everything around us, like plants, animals, water, and air. This means that both the living and non-living things around us make up our environment.
Concept of man as both male and female humans: When we say “man,” we mean all humans, both boys and girls, men and women. Everyone has a part to play in taking care of our environment.
How man relates with his environment: We interact with our environment daily through activities like planting trees, recycling waste, and even walking to school. By doing these things, we are taking part in caring for our environment.
Lesson Evaluation:
To evaluate the learning, the teacher asks pupils to:
- Define what is meant by ‘environment’.
- Give two examples of how they can help maintain a clean and healthy environment at home or school.
- Explain why it is important for everyone, regardless of being male or female, to care for the environment.
