• The Sun: The sun is the most important source of light energy on Earth. It provides us with light and warmth.
• Light Bulbs: Light bulbs are artificial sources of light energy. They use electricity to produce light.
• Flashlights: Flashlights are portable sources of light energy. They use batteries to produce light.
• Fire: Fire is a natural source of light energy. It produces light and heat.
• Stars: Stars are giant balls of hot gas that produce light energy.

How Light Energy Travels

Light energy travels in straight lines. This is why we can see objects when light from a source shines on them. When light hits an object, it can be:
