Dignity of Labour
The concept of โDignity of Labourโ emphasizes the respect for all kinds of decent and legitimate work. It means that all forms of work should be valued and respected, regardless of the type of work or the person performing it.
What is work?
Work is any effort or activity performed to achieve a purpose or earn a living. It can be defined as the activities we do to provide ourselves with an income.
God wants us to work.
God wants us to use our abilities, strengths, wisdom, and talents for meaningful work. He wants us to earn an honest living and bring Him glory through our work.
Reasons why we work.
There are many reasons why we work. Some of these reasons include:
- Providing for ourselves and others: We work to provide for our basic needs, such as food, shelter, and clothing, and to support our families.
- Contributing to society: Our work helps to create goods and services that benefit society as a whole.
- Personal fulfillment: Work can provide us with a sense of purpose, accomplishment, and satisfaction.
Real-life examples that depict Godโs desire for man to work.
There are many real-life examples that show Godโs desire for man to work. For example, in Proverbs 6:6-11, we see the ant as a model of hard work and diligence. The ant works tirelessly to gather food and prepare for the future. This is a reminder that we should also work hard and use our abilities wisely.
